Implant Restorative Courses

Hi all,

Had a great meeting today with Nobel Biocare.

Exciting plans ahead for study clubs, the new Aesthetic Alliance (announced at the symposium) and for new implant restorative courses.

We discussed the need for all practitioners to have a working knowledge of implant dentistry whether it be from a restorative or a maintenance perspective. Dental implants are more common place than ever and we all need to know what to look for and how to troubleshoot and fix common problems.

We should all be offering implants as an alternative to dentures and fixed bridgework, thereby giving the patient informed consent of the treatments available.

To this end I am seeking practitioners looking to add simple implant restorative techniques to their repertoire. This can be new graduates who may have had limited exposure to implant dentistry or more seasoned dentists who would like to demystify implants. The course will include aspects such as simple screening and treatment planning to help refer suitable cases; single tooth and simple bridgework; denture attachments. This is not set in stone and can be adapted to delegate needs and wants.

There are plenty of year long surgical courses out there but few focusing on just the restorative aspect.

The courses are set to start early in the new year but I would love to hear from any early interest or any suggestions on how we can make this a very user friendly course.

Until next time

Andy
